
Before 1975, Vietnam was drowned in wars and separated into 2 major sides: North Vietnam and South Vietnam.
Not until 1975 did the current Party changed the official name of Saigon into Ho Chi Minh as a way to remind every Vietnamese how brave and patriotic the man himself was.
Saigon – the capital city of South Vietnam covered a small but essential area of the current North Eastern area.
Cho Lon ( chợ lớn) belonged to a city called Prey Nokor and not until 1770s, was it emerged to Saigon.
